It could also be some kind of problem with the facial/mouth/general speech animation(s) being missing/incompatible/etc. This could include lines they say/'topics' you can speak with them about, that aren't properly loaded/are incompatible/don't exist due to uninstalled mods/are dependant upon bugged/incompatible/missing mods/DLC, or similar problems. If you have crashing when you talk with a certain NPC, that NPC likely has some problem with their dialog as far as the game is concerned. I know for a face that none of my mods affect them but it closes anyways. When i talk to a Kajhit Merchant my game closes on me.
All is fine, but now i encounter a new problem.
The BodySlide option is actually included to first page, instead of being buried at the end of the old horizontal list. Now that I am actually awake again, the installer seems to work properly in my end. The long day with very little amount of sleep messed with my memory and concentration. I only then remembered that it no longer uses horizontal menu, but standard one. I am using CBBE and tried the launcher to clear your problem. My advices were poor and indeed coming from the past.
I was very tired yesterday and my memory failed me.
